Legal help doesn’t exist in isolation. Many people facing legal problems are also navigating challenges such as housing insecurity, financial hardship, family violence, poor health or social isolation. Supported Connected Integrated Programs (SCIP) recognises that legal issues are often connected to broader social circumstances and that resolving a legal problem may require support from multiple services.
SCIP brings together lawyers, social workers and community workers to provide integrated, person-centred support. By connecting clients with the right services at the right time, the program helps people address the underlying issues affecting their wellbeing while improving access to justice and longer-term outcomes.
“They were supportive, it boosted my confidence and I was quite hopeful. That’s how I resolved to manage my difficulty … Somehow, we resolved it together.”
