Safe Landing helps women and non-binary people across Victoria who are experiencing family violence while living on temporary visas or with uncertain visa status. We deliver the program in partnership with Northern Community Legal Centre, providing free, confidential and trauma-informed support through a multidisciplinary team of lawyers and social workers. We help women navigate migration and family law issues, access family violence protections, and connect with the legal, social and community supports they need to move forward safely.
Too often, concerns about visa status, financial security and personal safety can make it difficult for women to leave unsafe situations or access support. We support clients with migration matters, family law issues, family violence protections, and referrals to social and community services. Our approach recognises that legal problems do not exist in isolation and that people often need practical, wraparound support to move forward safely.
We work with schools in the southeast to help young people understand their rights and responsibilities, as well as access legal help.
