Over its first three years, the Victorian Legal Service (VLS), including South-East Monash Legal Service and partner organisations, delivered more than 12,000 services to victim-survivors across Victoria, providing trauma-informed legal assistance, referrals, and support to access financial assistance, compensation, and recovery services.
The report highlights the vital role of specialist legal services in helping victim-survivors navigate complex systems, access justice, and rebuild their lives, while calling for sustained investment to meet growing demand and ensure long-term support for victims of crime.
