Fear of losing a visa or employment can make it difficult for migrant workers to report exploitation or assert their workplace rights.
In this joint submission, South East Monash Legal Service, WEstjustice and JobWatch supported stronger measures to protect migrant workers from workplace exploitation, while also advocating for accessible justice pathways, culturally responsive enforcement, free legal assistance, and safeguards to ensure workers can report misconduct without risking their livelihoods or migration status.
